The Roost is a Middle Mount Lemmon hotspot for bold moderates and beautiful sunsets. Some of the best times to climb here are fall and spring evenings for good sunset temps and colors. Lines tend to be tallish and/or over uneven landings, however, many lines are extremely worth the extra effort to pad them out. Perfect examples of this mantra include (in order of increasing danger) Hard Luck Woman, Boogie Woogie Feng Shui, Callisto, Brain Scratch, Black Walder, and Waltz for Venus.
There are a handful of problems to do between harrowing ascents while your adrenaline levels return to normal. These problems are fun and require fewer pads: Asteroid Blues, Thrutchtastic, and Vicious.
The Roost isn’t done either! Although most projects involve some level of risk management they are largely protectable. The best of them (in order of increasing danger) are Scrubs Project, The Hillside Project, Rocco Bonnaro, and the Ballad of Fallen Angels Project.
