Team Structure & Paths

  • This is our highest-level team for the elite competitive athlete. To be considered for this team, an athlete must have made climbing their sole extra-curricular sport activity, and have time management skills to balance school work with training. The Comp Team practices three times a week between our two locations, and participates in the full USA Climbing competition circuit. Athletes are expected to participate in all competitions that they qualify for. A more intense curriculum is followed to help all athletes reach their peak potential.

    Ages 13-18

    Cost: $299/month (does not include required gym membership)

  • This competitive team is for the climber who has shown the commitment and drive of a motivated climber, and wants to participate in competition. The Travel Team practices 3 times a week and participates in the full USA Climbing competition circuit. A physically and mentally demanding curriculum is followed to help all athletes achieve their athletic potential.

    Ages 10-16

    Cost: $239/month (does not include required gym membership)

  • Rec team is for the climber who has a deep love for the sport, but is not interested in competition. Athletes have the option of training two or three times per week. Utilizing a more relaxed environment, we will work towards building physical and mental climbing skills in order to deepen the relationship we have with the sport, thus fostering a base for a lifetime of activity. Monthly outdoor day-trips to surrounding climbing areas are available to this team.

    Ages: 12-18

    Cost: 2x/week - $149.00/mo; 3x/week - $239/mo (does not include required gym membership)

  • The Training Team practices twice a week. Climbers must show a clear love for climbing and have a willingness to learn not only technical climbing skills, but also developing work ethic and enthusiasm for the sport. Coaches start the process of familiarizing kids with competition formats, as well as continually developing technique and movement skills. Participation in at least one competition during the season is required.

    Ages 8-12

    Cost: $159/month (does not include required gym membership)

  • Our most introductory level team. The Junior Team is a preparatory group meeting twice a week for those climbers who have aspirations of rising the ranks of the Team program or just making climbing ‘their sport.’ This team will focus in depth on learning climbing technique and terminology, as well as the very beginnings of strength and mental training. No experience is necessary. Participation in competition is not required, but encouraged.

    Ages 6-11

    Cost: $139 or $119/month (does not include required gym membership)

The Rocks and Ropes youth team is supported by it's own non-profit organization,  Tucson Climbing Project, Inc. which provides financial aid to its athletes.
